The classic brownie recipe just got better because these treats are brimming with chocolate and creamy caramel! Our ROLO® Caramel Brownies recipe starts as a moist HERSHEY’S Cocoa chocolate brownie with white creme chips and ROLO® Creamy Caramels on the inside. Did we forget to mention swirls of caramel sauce on the outside? Sticky, sweet and satisfying, ROLO® Caramel Brownies are deliciously decadent, bite after bite.
Combine chopped dark chocolate and butter in a small bowl over a bain marie. Let it melt, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat and add granulated white sugar, vanilla extract and the eggs. Whisk to combine.
Fold in sifted all-purpose flour, cocoa powder and salt until smooth.
Preheat the oven to 340°F. Pour half of the brownie batter into a previously greased 8-inch square pan.
Add ROLO® Creamy Caramels evenly distributed into the batter.
Place the remaining brownie batter on top, making sure ROLO® Creamy Caramels are completely covered.
Sprinkle white chocolate chips on the surface.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with only a few moist crumbs attached. Let it chill at room temperature.
Drizzle caramel sauce on top of the brownies.
For the caramel sauce:
Place granulated white sugar in medium saucepan and cook over medium low heat until sugar has dissolved and caramel is amber color.
Remove from the heat and stir in butter until it melts completely.
Carefully pour in slightly heated heavy cream while continuously whisking. If necessary, take back to the heat until liquid and fully incorporated.
