    water
  • 16 ounces
    strawberries (frozen)
  • 2 1/2 cups
    granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups
    all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup
  • 1 1/2 tsps
    baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsps
    baking soda
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 cup
    milk
  • 1/2 cup
    vegetable oil
  • 2 tsps
    vanilla extract
  • 1 cup
    boiling water

Directions

Strawberry Frosting

  1. Pulverize 1/2 cup freeze-dried strawberries in a food processor or blender to a powder.
  2. Whisk strawberry powder to 4 cups powdered sugar until well blended.
  3. Beat 1/2 cup unsalted, softened butter and 2 tsps vanilla in a large bowl.
  4. Add in 1 cup of sugar mixture until creamy.
  5. Beat in remaining sugar mixture alternately with 3 to 4 tbsps of milk until spreading consistency is reached. Makes about 2 2/3 cups.
