Take your holiday dessert traditions to the next level with this Deep-Fried Chocolate Stars recipe. And this recipe is simple, too: Fold a HERSHEY'S KISSES Chocolate inside an uncooked wonton wrapper, then deep-fry them in a heavy, deep pot. The result? A crispy pocket of goodness! These deep-fried chocolate stars are a unique alternative to decorating classic sugar cookies. Just dust the outsides of your Chocolate Four-Pointed Stars with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar while they're still warm for a little extra flavor and special holiday sparkle.
Now make these Easy KISSES Chocolate Chip Cookies for another sweet treat hiding an even sweeter surprise.
BAKE MODE:
Prevent your screen from going dark while you bake.
Put powdered sugar in a medium bowl.
Heat the oil over medium high heat in a medium heavy pot or deep fryer.
Brush the edges of each wonton wrapper with egg.
Place unwrapped chocolate candy piece in the middle of each wrapper.
Lift up the middle points of the two opposite sides so they meet. Squeeze lightly together at the top of the candy piece.
Bring up the middle of the other two sides to close the wonton.
Press the edges to firmly seal.
When oil is hot, fry wontons, four at a time, until light golden brown and crisp, about two minutes, flipping occasionally.
With a slotted spoon, transfer the wontons to the bowl of powdered sugar and toss to coat. Serve immediately.
