And with a bit of HERSHEY’S cocoa powder, you have yourself a doubly good cookie recipe. Set out these chocolate chip cookies for your guests or have a moment to yourself with a cold glass of milk. If you’re feeling extra crafty, sprinkle bits of cookies over your favorite ice cream or dunk a cookie in a cup of hot cocoa for a melty surprise.

    all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup
  • 3/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1 cup
    butter or margarine (2 sticks), softened
  • 1 1/2 cups
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 tsps
    vanilla extract
  • 2 cups
    HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Mildly Sweet Chocolate Chips, HERSHEY'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips or 2 cups (11.5 oz pkg.), HERSHEY'S Milk Chocolate Chips (12 oz pkg.)
  • 1/2 cup
    coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 350°F.

Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl until fluffy. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or just until set. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
