mixing bowl Mixing Bowl
measuring cups and spoons Measuring Cups and Spoons
wire rack Wire Rack

1

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan and set aside.

2

In a mixing bowl, stir together cake mix, egg, 1/2 cup (8 tablespoons) melted butter, water and vanilla until combined. Fold in 1 cup of the cream cheese chips. Spread batter in prepared pan.

3

Bake for 19 to 21 minutes, or until the edges are set (the center of the brownie will be fudgy). Cool completely on a wire rack.

4

Frosting: Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons butter and 1/3 cup cream cheese chips in a microwave-safe bowl at MEDIUM (50%) for 30 seconds. Stir, then heat again in 15-second increments until smooth and melted. Add the cream cheese, stirring well. Gradually stir in the powdered sugar.

5

Frost the brownie and chill for 10 minutes to allow the frosting to set.

6

Cut into 16 bars and serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
