Get you chocolate fix with cookies easy enough for the kids to make. This refrigerator cookie recipe combines the best parts of a brownie and cookie. Filled with HERSHEY'S Chocolate Chips and HERSHEY'S Cocoa, they're the chewy, chocolatey dessert you've been looking for.
Heat oven to 375°F.
Beat shortening, brown sugar, water and vanilla in large bowl on medium speed of mixer until well blended. Add eggs; beat well.
Stir together flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda. Gradually add to sugar mixture, beating on low speed just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle chopped walnuts on each cookie, pressing down lightly.
Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until cookies are set. Cookies will appear soft and moist. Do NOT over bake. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
Allow cookie to cool the recommended time on the cookie sheet before moving to wire rack. This allows them to firm enough so that the cookies don't fall apart when moved.
