Chocolate brownie pancakes come together with just 5 ingredients and are a delicious way to start your morning with a bite of chocolate. Pancakes with chocolate are a Sunday morning treat for my family, and we like to switch up the types of pancakes we make each week. Everyone has their favorites, and these hot chocolate pancakes are my son’s favorite. This recipe consists of prepackaged ingredients making it simple and quick to whisk together!  Be sure to check out Hersheyland’s tips on how to make boxed pancake mix better, or tap into your love of brownies with Hershey’s Best Brownies recipe for dessert.

Directions

Equipment Needed
whisk Whisk
mixing bowl Mixing Bowl
stove Stove
skillet Skillet
spatula Spatula
1
Brownie powder in a bowl

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the pancake mix and the brownie mix, breaking up any lumps.

2
Brownie powder with eggs in a bowl

Add the egg and the HERSHEY’S Syrup, whisking to combine.

3
Brownie pancake ingredients mixed

Add the milk to the batter and stir until the brownie pancake batter comes together.

4

Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. You will know the skillet is hot enough when a drop of water ‘dances’ on the surface.

5

Pour 1/4 to 1/3 cups of chocolate pancake batter onto the hot skillet. Turn the heat back to medium.

6

Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes and the edges start to dry and set up.

7

Flip over the pancakes and continue to cook until the pancake has fully set, about 1 minute.

8

Transfer to a serving plate and serve with a drizzle of HERSHEY’S Syrup or Chocolate Maple Syrup. Sprinkle with REESE’S Peanut Butter Chips or HERSHEY’S Mini Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips for the perfect brownie pancake bite.

Baking Tips & Storing Leftovers

Sarah’s Tip: These pancakes will seem to brown faster than a traditional pancake due to the chocolate in them. Turn the heat back and cook them lower and slower to keep them from becoming too dark. If you have any leftover pancakes, store them in a closed container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat them in a toaster oven, toaster or microwave until warmed through.
