Chocolate Dipped Apple Donuts

Line two baking sheets with parchment. Clean 2 apples then dry them.

Cut each apple in 1-inch circular slices. Core each slice.

Mix 2 cups water and 2 Tbsps lemon juice, then place apple slices into the mixture. Allow slices to soak for 15 minutes.

Pour 2 cups chocolate chips and 2 tsps vegetable oil into a medium microwave safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds; stir. Heat an additional 15 to 30 seconds until melted. 

Dry apple slices off well until no excess water is left. If desired, insert lollipop stick into the bottom of each slice.

Dip one slice at a time into the chocolate. Flip apple slice in the melted chocolate with a fork or the lollipop stick. Shake off excess chocolate then lay on parchment paper. Repeat for each apple slice.

If you wish to drizzle with peanut butter chips, white creme chips, or other desired chocolate—microwave 1 cup of chips with 1 tsp vegetable oil for 30 seconds. Stir then heat an additional 15 to 30 seconds until chips are melted. Drizzle melted chocolate over apple slices.

Sprinkle with desired sprinkles and candies. 

Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes before serving. Store remaining donuts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1 day. Donuts can be frozen for up to a month.
